SCG maintains multiple professional protective force services for the federal government and commercial clients. Our Federal client base consists of the General Services Administration(GSA) with multiple protective forces in Tennessee and Kentucky; the Environmental Protection Agency in Rhode Island; and the Federal Aviation Administration in Georgia. We manage both unionized and non-unionized contracts.
SCG protective forces operate based on a single Policy and Procedures Manual. This manual provides the basis for all security operation, standards, training, supervision, and quality control. Attachments to the manual are provided for post orders and special contract- specific instructions. This standardization has made SCG cost-effective and efficient in maintaining a superior force.
SCG maintains a GSA-approved security trainer at various sites. This trainer is responsible for providing initial and refresher training to all protective forces supporting federal agencies.
SCG maintains a quality assurance program for our guard contracts. This program begins with the security officer selection program. Security officers are selected based not only on background investigations, but education, experience, physical fitness, and stable job history. SCG provides a number of tests, both pre- and post-training to check for suitability. Selected SCG managers conduct unannounced inspections of uniforms, equipment, and knowledge. This provides Corporate oversight in maintaining a quality force.
SCG's trademark is responsiveness to clients' needs. SCG has, under extreme conditions, absorbed security responsibilities for federal guard contracts in less than 24-hours during an incumbent contractor default. SCG historically maintains a 10% surge capability at each location to provide for emergency services when required by the client.
SCG actively supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), via current contracts, with security officers for disaster recovery operations. A rapid response team is sent to the FEMA Disaster Field Office (DFO) to determine the security requirements. This team consists of a core staff of management, contract administration, and human resources personnel which establishes the initial security force. Additionally, they deploy with the weapons, uniforms, computer support, and necessary funding to meet the initial expected project requirements. Within the first week, local guards are hired, background checks are completed, uniformed, trained, and posted. SCG maintains a full-time supervisor at the DFO with the authority to respond to security needs until the recovery efforts are ended.
